More Progress at Niki's, Henry's, and Lena's

Tuesday, April 17, 2007. The Barrington Team are still divided into three teams, one to each of the sites shown above. Today, at Niki's, they finished putting OSB onto the outside of the house, continued repairing termite damaged studs in the interior, and fixing the floors.

At Henry's house, they finished fixing the four posts that are holding the front porch up on the second floor. They also finished put up sheet rock on the two stairwells. They also bought and installed a security door on Joyce's lower floor residence.

We got permission from Henry to put regular standard vinyl windows in Henry's house, purchased two and plan to put them in the Henry and Diane living room. This will be a test to see how long it takes and whether it will work. There are 22 of the same sized windows in Henry and Joyce's house. There are about 16 other non standard windows.

The Cleaning in preparation for painting is going on very well in Henry's residence. A blue color has been chosen.

The group bought Henry a refrigerator and put it up on the second floor.

At Lena's, four or five of the Barrington males insisted on helping Lena after hours. In the evening, they gave up going to hear Jazz so they could help Royston with the headers above the interior doors of his house. Royston agreed to the help, so he worked with the guys to complete all the headers in the house. A little more framing will be done before we can do electrical wiring and then sheet rock.

There was much trouble figuring out a way to get 16' long pieces of siding that is to go on the outside of Niki's house to the site. Lowe's would deliver but not before Thursday. Frank (Niki's husband) helped by getting his fathers trailer and we will use that to deliver the siding.

Carl (our electrician) has been contacted about the electrical wiring in Lena and Niki's houses.
